Our company was built on the ingenuity of a homebrewer with a passion for experimentation and a deep appreciation for tradition. Near the end of 2018, we released our 1,000th batch of beer and our first hazy double IPA. Since we had such a great time with that beer, we decided we didn't need a fancy number like 1,000 to justify playing around with hops, malt, and yeast like we were homebrewing again. A yeast strain designed to maximize the amount of fruit forward flavors and aromas produces this hazy, blond, double IPA packed with Galaxy, Amarillo and Lemon Drop hops. Look for intense, sweet, fruity flavors and aromas of passion fruit, citrus, peach, and watermelon candy all wrapped up in a sticky malty body wiht a soft mouthfeel. What began as a single vision has grown into a collaborative effort from the entire team.

We’ve got a certified green thumb here at Confluence, and her name is Becca. It's little wonder, then, that we chose to name our beer that features root, leaf, and fruit after our resident plant whisperer. This beer is built on a slightly sweet American Wheat base that blends ginger for a little spice, rosemary for a touch of woodsy earthiness, and lemon for a bright tartness to create a perfectly balanced concoction–not unlike Becca herself. Grab a pint to savor and say hi to Confluence’s foremost gardener next time you see her behind the bar. If you’re lucky, she might even pass along a little green wisdom!

A summer favorite ever since we mashed in our first bag of New Mexican blue corn. While few things are as refreshing as a Blue Corn Lager on a hot day, we decided to give this smooth, crisp beer a little heat of its own. The addition of roasted jalapeños and ancho chiles brings out a robust pepper flavor to compliment the hint of corn chip-like character of the base beer. With the spiciness dialed down a bit from the roasting process, we hope this special release will have you saying, “Uno mas!”

Breaking news out of Polk County today! Aaron “The Brewer” Reif has teamed up with the notorious Confluence Gang to outfox the Feds once more! The crew vanished with a batch of Aaron’s Polk County Stout, tucked it into whiskey barrels, and laid low till the heat died down. Now it’s turning up in joints all over Iowa; thick, sticky, and smoother than a silver-tongued salesman. Sources say folks can’t get enough of its decadent chocolate punch and creamy vanilla finish. The law calls it contraband. The people call it Bootlegger’s Reserve. Better get yours before the revenuers do!

This series is our ever-evolving answer to the shifting landscape of IPAs. Each batch is created with a similar malt backbone, but with enough variance from its own sequence of lush, tropical-forward hops to be a unique species. Our passion for maximum flavor drives our unstoppable quest for incredible hop combinations. In this fun-filled exploration of the depths of the lupulin landscape, we are proud to share a fleeting glimpse of our short-lived creation. It's designed with a softer body, sweeter profile and low bitterness, to showcase many of today's designer hops. Every batch in this hazy series will have its own unique hops line-up. You might be tempted to shelter this creation from extinction by squirreling it away, but to truly enjoy this beer, drink it fresh... then look for the next!

A refreshing blonde ale featuring a base of two row American barley malt along with a large portion of wheat malt, a small dose of rye malt and un-malted oats, corn and wheat. It's then lightly hopped with English East Kent Goldings hops chosen for their subtle, earthy qualities and finished with Czech Saaz hops for their sweet, floral essence to create a beer that’s light in body and color, with a velvety texture and an aroma as sweet as a freshly cut field of hay.
