We once again brewed some hydration magic. The sports drink of beers, if you will. We started with a Gose base - the historic but popular German beer style that is a little tart and a little salty. We then added lemon and lime juice, for that classic sports drink flavor. The warm weather is here, and this beer is ridiculously quenching. Known for a lower pH and exciting water profile, it features minerals that give you what your body craves - in this case, raging out in the woods on two wheels, trying to find your dark place.

Freak Flag is one of our two flagship, year-round offerings. The base beer always remains relatively the same (small tweaks here in there to best fit with the hop bill), and the hops are different each time we brew it. However, in this batch, we played with the malt bill a little bit more than usual - switching from flaked wheat to malted, and adding more protein heavy German malts. We then blended in a bunch of punchy modern hops and hop oils, which include Pacific Gem, Eukanot Cryo, Lorien, Bravo, and Citra.

Traditionally, Italian pilsners are European malted lagers that are then dry-hopped to infuse floral or possibly spicy notes to the beverage. The grain bill in Scoot Scoot consists of authentic Italian pilsner malt grown by the Adriatic Sea, which was given a touch of bitterness in the kettle with German Tradition hops, before being accentuated with Loral and Lorien hops in the whirlpool. To bring it back from the citrus leaning whirlpool, it was dry hopped with Saaz in the fermenter, and conditioned for weeks before packaging. Unfiltered, crispy and delicious.
